»Phasma: Classifying unknown signals using SDR and Machine Learning«
2018-10-13, 16:50–17:20, A1

Phasma is a system developed under the GNU Radio platform that combines Software Defined Radio and Machine Learning, in order to detect and extract over-the-air signal and classify them based on their modulation.

In this talk there will be a presentation of main components that compose the "phasma" system. I will describe in more detail how the system manages to detect, extract and classify signals in real-time. There will be a discussion about why automatically classifying signals is important, how it may affect research in areas such as Wireless Telecommunications, Cognitive Radio and Security and which are the main challenges that Machine Learning aspires to overcome.
