The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives citizens additional control over their personal data. While the regulation thoroughly describes data subjects rights and the obligations of data controllers and processors, it does not offer any means of helping data controllers and data processors achieve compliance. Free and open-source projects are affected as well - this session presents some of the key aspects of the EU GDPR and highlights best practices for achieving compliance.

During this session, participants will have the chance to become acquainted with some of the key aspects of the EU GDPR (including organisational requirements, data processing requirements and data subject rights). More importantly, they will be presented with several best practices followed by leading organisations.
